Jess Ward is a musical director and instrumental teacher. She studied an undergraduate degree in music and maths at the University of Leeds followed by a postgraduate in musical composition.
Following university, Jess began her career as a freelance musician alongside her part time work programming and running the University of Leeds Concert Series. She co-directs Cleckheaton Youth Theatre; is choir master for both Oakenshaw and Gildersome Community Choirs and has musically directed many musicals and operas including Sunset Boulevard, Grease, Copacabana, Whistle Down the Wind, Carousel, H.M.S Pinafore, the Yeoman of the Guard, The Sound of Music, The Pirates of Penzance, The Marriage of Figaro and the magic Flute.
Jess teaches piano and frequently provided piano accompaniment for musical and vocal exams.
In her (limited!) free time Jess loves spending time at home in rural Derbyshire with her family and pets and enjoys gardening and countryside walks.
