Welcome to Oakenshaw Community Choir
We are a small community choir based in Oakenshaw and the Spen Valley near Bradford. We welcome new members of all ages and abilities. No singing experience is necessary and there are no auditions. We cover a wide genre of music including pop and musical theatre. We rehearse every Monday at 7pm until 9pm at St Andrew’s Church, Bradford Road, Oakenshaw, BD12 7EN. Come along and try a free taster session.

About Oakenshaw Choir
Oakenshaw Community Choir was formed in 2012 to bring people together from Oakenshaw and surrounding areas to share and enjoy singing and making music. New singers are always welcome, no auditions required. Just come along and sing!
Diary
Easter – The choir will not be holding rehearsals on Monday 6th April 2026.
May Day Holiday – No rehearsal on Monday 4th May 2026.
Spring Bank Holiday – No rehearsal 25th May 2026
Summer Concert – 13th June 2026 at Birkenshaw Methodist Church.

Raising funds for Parkinson's UK.
Each year we support a charity through fundraising at our concerts and events. Sometimes it is a local charity, sometimes a national charity but always one that is close to our hearts. This year we have been supporting Parkinson’s UK which campaigns for better health and care as well as funding ground breaking research into new treatments for this terrible disease. Our Autumn concert was held at Birkenshaw Methodist Church and raised £700.60. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the choir and Parkinson’s UK.
