Rehearsals every Monday evening at the Bobbin Carrier, Chain Bar from 7pm to 9pm. Members will be notified of any holiday breaks or cancellations.

Help as an Organiser

Help is always appreciated for events. Organising venues, refreshments, promotion, PR, transport etc.

Committee

We have a committee for the management of the choir. This is reviewed at the Annual General Meeting each year.

Become a Sponsor

How & When to Register

Come along on a Monday evening at 7pm for three free taster sessions. Register on your fourth visit.

Fund Raising

Oakenshaw Community Choir holds concerts and events to raise funds for local charities and organisations. We have previously supported St Andrew’s Church, Oakenshaw; Forget me Not Children’s Hospice and Kirkwood Hospice.

Facilities

We meet in the function room of the Bobbin Carrier at Chain Bar. Level access to building. Toilets available. refreshments can be bought at the bar.

Choir Uniform

Blue polo shirts with choir logo – available from choir
Formal performances – white shirt with blue bow tie for men, white blouse with blue scarf for women
Black trousers or skirts.
Outdoor – blue fleece with choir logo available from choir

What is included in the registration fee?

Weekly rehearsal with choir, including all music and instruction by the musical director.

How can I register?

Just come along for a taster session on a Monday evening at 7pm.

What at do I need to bring with me?

Bring a pen or pencil to make notes on music. A highlighter pen is also useful.

Refreshments can be bought at the bar, however a bottle of water can be helpful.
